About the product
AlgaSlime is an organic gel made from live microalgae that retains moisture in the substrate and gradually releases water, reducing the need for watering for up to 30 days.
It helps keep your plants hydrated for longer, reducing water stress and improving the health of the substrate in a natural and sustainable way.
Unlike synthetic gels, AlgaSlime is composed of live microalgae that, in addition to retaining water, provide nutrients, improve soil quality, and do not pollute.
Not exactly. AlgaSlime is a biostimulant: it improves hydration and provides benefits to the substrate, but it doesn't replace fertilizer if your plant needs specific nutrients.
It has a very light, natural plant scent. It doesn't stain, but we recommend handling it carefully to avoid leaving residue on delicate surfaces.
Effects and conditions
Up to 30 days, depending on the type of plant, climate, and location. In dry or hot environments, the effect may be slightly reduced.
No. AlgaSlime keeps the substrate aerated and oxygenated thanks to its porous texture. It doesn't retain excess water in the root zone and doesn't promote the growth of fungi.
Yes, although in very hot or windy areas it is advisable to increase the amount applied to ensure sufficient hydration.
Yes, you can use fertilizers or phytosanitary treatments together with AlgaSlime without any problem.
Yes, it's an eco-friendly and non-toxic product. Although it's not edible, it doesn't pose a danger if accidentally touched.
Plant care and maintenance
Just once after the initial application, until the water drains. Then, you can forget about watering for several days or even weeks, depending on conditions.
We recommend renewing the application every 3 or 4 weeks, or when you notice that the substrate is drying out again as before.
- Spread the gel over the surface of the substrate.
- Mix it well with the soil.
- Work the mixture deeper so that it reaches the roots.
- Water thoroughly only once.
It's not designed for hydroponics. It can be supplemented with automatic irrigation, but its main advantage is reducing the need for complex systems.
Amounts
Here is an approximate guide, taking the diameter of the pot (cm) as a reference.
- Pot <20 cm: 0.25 L
- 20-30cm pot: 0.5L
- 30-40 cm pot: 1 L
- Pot >40 cm: 2 L
In extreme heat, we recommend doing a small test to see how your plant responds. With the usual dosage, it should survive 30 days without watering, but you can apply a little more if you see it needs it. Additionally, covering the surface of the substrate with bark, straw, or decorative stones can help retain moisture and improve the effectiveness of AlgaSlime.
Yes, you can store it tightly sealed in a cool, dry place. It doesn't require refrigeration, but it's important to avoid direct sunlight. Ideally, store it in a place with ambient light (out of direct sunlight) for no more than 2-3 months. We also recommend opening the cap once a week to release the oxygen generated by the live microalgae inside.

Delivery within 24 business hours. If you place your order before 2:00 PM, you will receive it by 2:00 PM the following business day. If you place your order later, it will ship the following day.
